Quick answers
Frequently asked questions
How many PlayStation cheat codes are there here?
13,158 codes across 921 PlayStation games, in 4 code formats: GameShark (10,199), Game Buster (2,742), RetroArch code (148) and Xploder (69).
How do you use these PlayStation codes?
In RetroArch, open the Quick Menu while the game is running, go to Cheats, add the code, switch it on and choose Apply Changes. On original hardware you need the cheat device the code was written for. Either way, the code has to match the regional version named on the set.
Do these PlayStation codes work on any version of a game?
No. A memory code points at a location inside one particular build, so a code for the USA release will usually do nothing on the Japanese or European one. Every set names its version, and where we only have a set for one region, that is the only region it is listed under.
Are these tested?
No. These are third-party codes from libretro-database, shown with their source file so you can check them. They are kept separate from our own cheat codes, which carry a "Reported working" or a dated "Tested" label, and they never count towards a game's cheat total.
