What Bō: Path of the Teal Lotus is

The premise, in the publisher's words
Use your legendary bo staff to bounce and move fluidly through a delightfully-demonic east Asian fever dream. Use the tight movement and reset system to reach areas efficiently and gracefully or recover chaotically while floundering for footing. Fluid jumping, bouncing and aerial/acrobatic movement and combat is taken to a new level of flow and complexity and becomes central to the game play. The chaos that ensues when the platforms and enemies become more varied and unpredictable. We want players to remember that this game looks challenging, and that you always need to stay on your toes and react quickly to find a way to stay afloat.
How it plays
It is played from a side view perspective. Its themes are action. It is a single-player game with no multiplayer component. There are 41 achievements to unlock.

What you need to run it
The minimum specification calls for Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 or AMD Phenom II X4 940, 8 GB RAM and NVIDIA GeForce GT 730, 2 GB or AMD Radeon R7 240, 2 GB or Intel UHD Graphics. An 8GB memory requirement is modest by current standards; most machines sold in the last five years clear it. Both tiers are compared side by side on the requirements page, and you can check your own parts against them without installing anything.
What it launched against
Bō: Path of the Teal Lotus launched on 17 July 2024, within three weeks of Nobody Wants to Die, Thank Goodness You're Here!, Once Human and Five Nights at Freddy's: Into the Pit. All of them reviewed better. It arrived 4 years into the PlayStation 5's life, so it was built for hardware developers already knew well.
Released around the same time: Nobody Wants to Die, Thank Goodness You're Here!, Once Human, Five Nights at Freddy's: Into the Pit.
