The premise, in the publisher's words
Set a century after humanity's victory in the First Galactic War, the Federation of Super Earth harvests a valuable resource called E-710 from insectoid creatures known as Terminids across colonized worlds. When containment of the Terminids is breached, they overrun multiple planets. Simultaneously, a mechanical army called the Automatons emerges with the goal of destroying humanity. Players serve as Helldivers, elite shock troops deployed from orbit to reclaim lost territory and repel both threats in an ongoing galactic conflict shaped by the collective actions of all players.
How it plays
It is played from a first person perspective. Its themes are action and science fiction. It is a single-player game with no multiplayer component. Available modes: Co-operative, Multiplayer and Single player. There are 38 achievements to unlock.

How long it takes, and what that costs
A full completion run takes around 40 hrs.
What you need to run it
The minimum specification calls for Intel Core i7-4790K or AMD Ryzen 5 1500X, 8 GB RAM and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 470. An 8GB memory requirement is modest by current standards; most machines sold in the last five years clear it. It also needs around 135GB of free storage, which is a real consideration on a 512GB drive. Both tiers are compared side by side on the requirements page, and you can check your own parts against them without installing anything.

The cheapest verified price right now is $32.99 at GameBillet, 18% below its usual price. Across the 9 stores we track, the same game ranges up to $39.99 — a spread of $7.00 for an identical product.
