What you need to run it
The minimum specification calls for Intel Core i3-8100 or AMD Ryzen 3 1300X, 16 GB RAM and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 4GB or AMD Radeon RX 5500XT 4GB. A 16GB memory requirement is demanding — worth checking before you buy, because 8GB is still common in older and budget machines. It also needs around 150GB of free storage, which is a real consideration on a 512GB drive. Both tiers are compared side by side on the requirements page, and you can check your own parts against them without installing anything.
What it launched against
Horizon Forbidden West: Complete Edition launched on 6 October 2023, within three weeks of Alan Wake II, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, Super Mario Bros. Wonder and Marvel's Spider-Man 2. It reviewed better than 1 of the 4. It arrived 3 years into the PlayStation 5's life, so it was built for hardware developers already knew well.
Released around the same time: Alan Wake II, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Marvel's Spider-Man 2.
