The premise, in the publisher's words
Grymbeard, a resentful dwarven inventor tired of living in his royal brother Wilbur’s shadow, is plotting revenge. As the massive robot nears completion, its potential to crush the entire kingdom becomes clear. In response, the Alliance — a coalition of Linirean sharpshooters, Dark Army mages, and other defenders — launches a five‑stage campaign to infiltrate the Darksteel Mountain, battle Grymbeard’s army of mechanical clones, minibosses, and epic bosses, and finally dismantle the automaton before it awakens.
