The singularity is set all over the globe. The current planet is effectively dominated by artificial intelligence (AI), and humans are not allowed to do any of the activities to build knowledge except for the permitted activities (playing, eating, etc.). Humans who are awake with knowledge are considered enemies of AI. There are several zones in the game, and arete, the driving force that allows AI to move in each zone, exists. In the play, the main character is responsible for preventing AI by destroying the arete.
