Domasi "Tommy" Tawodi is a Cherokee mechanic and former soldier living on an Oklahoma reservation, restless and eager to leave it all behind. One night in the bar owned by his girlfriend Jen, an ordinary argument is cut short when a blinding green light tears the building from the earth. Tommy, Jen, and his grandfather Enisi are among the humans swept up into a colossal, living alien starship known as the Sphere, a vast organic vessel that roams the cosmos consuming worlds to sustain itself.
