What you need to run it
The minimum specification calls for Intel Core i5 750 @ 2.6 GHz or AMD Phenom II X4 @ 3.2 GHz, 4 GB RAM and nVidia GeForce GTX460 or AMD Radeon HD5870 (1024MB VRAM with Shader Model 5.0). At 4GB of RAM, it will run on essentially any working PC — that is below what a budget laptop ships with today. Install size is roughly 7GB. Both tiers are compared side by side on the requirements page, and you can check your own parts against them without installing anything.
What it launched against
Railway Empire launched on 26 January 2018, within three weeks of Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Monster Hunter: World, Celeste and Shadow of the Colossus. It reviewed better than 1 of the 4. It arrived 5 years into the PlayStation 4's life, so it was built for hardware developers already knew well.
Released around the same time: Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Monster Hunter: World, Celeste, Shadow of the Colossus.
