The premise, in the publisher's words
The evil sorceress cursed the 5 sacred crystals and enclosed them, the whole kingdom of Reknum, to absorb their vitality and become immortal. Princess Cheri must take the sacred claymore, the only one capable of breaking the crystals, in order to defeat the sorceress and restore peace to the kingdom.
How it plays
It is played from a side view perspective. Its themes are action and fantasy. It is a single-player game with no multiplayer component.
What it launched against
Reknum launched on 30 January 2020, within three weeks of Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Dreams, Besiege and Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. It arrived 7 years into the PlayStation 4's life, so it was built for hardware developers already knew well.
