The Secret of the Four Winds is a Japanese-style action role-playing game. The cartridge contains a custom board with an audio enhancement chip that offers the possibility to enjoy the game with Sega CD / Mega-CD music quality (No actual Sega CD / Mega-CD is required). This game will make use of that audio chip but it can also be played with the console's original audio if desired. The player will control 3 different characters at the same time (the player can control any of the 3 characters at any time and the other characters will be controlled by the CPU).
