August Community Update

Hello Space Marines! You know the drill now! The end of the month means new info about Space Marine 2! Let us reveal some of the content of Patch 15, the Community Event and a few words about modding. PATCH 15 🔜We’re working on Patch 15, making sure everything is ready before it reaches your hands. In the meantime, let’s dive into some of the content coming with this update:CHAOS SIEGE MODEAs you know, Chaos Siege Mode is coming with Patch 15 bringing a new challenge to the game. In this mode, you’ll play with Chaos Space Marines on a brand new Siege map located on Avarax. You’ll face Tyranids and Loyalists waves, receive the support of Chaos Cultists and Ritualists, and you’ll be able to deploy a Helbrute to wreak havoc on the battlefield.ONE-HANDED THUNDER HAMMER We’re adding the One-Hander Thunder Hammer, a fast weapon that can transition between single target and area attacks. Available for the Tactical (! more info below), Assault, Bulwark and Techmarine classes.CRUCIBLE MODE“The Crucible awaits, Brother. Will you submit to the test?”  A new game mode will also be added: the Crucible Mode. Talk to our beloved Chapter Chaplain to set up your Penance before going into an Operation. Penances are personal debuffs that will make your mission even harder. They will grant you Purity XP if you succeed the Operation, which will let you unlock unique customisation items and armour parts. Each Penance has a tier, each with its own set of challenges and rewards. The more debuffs you pick, the more XP you get, but the harder the challenge, so choose wisely! Since Crucible is designed to be an end game challenge, your class must be level 25 to participate. TACTICAL REWORKWe teased it in a previous Community Update, the Tactical class will receive a major rework to support more versatile playstyles. His Perk Tree in particular will be more diverse and will allow for more creativity in the build. A frequent request was to expand his melee arsenal: it will now be possible to equip a Power Sword, Power Axe or One Handed Thunder Hammer at the expense of his Primary Weapon for a melee build. If you’re more into distance fights, a Class Perk will allow you to replace your Secondary Weapon with a Primary Bolt Rifle. “SOMETHING WE SHOULD HAVE DONE A LONG TIME AGO”A few community updates ago, we told you that we were working on “something we should have done a long time ago”. The something in question being: Cape Recolour. Take a first look: Work in progress, final version subject to change.🎂 SECOND ANNIVERSARY UPDATEFirst of all, we’d like to thank you for these two incredible years of Space Marine 2, and for your continued support throughout this journey. The enthusiasm you’ve shown for the game and its updates continues to motivate us to keep bringing new content and experiences to the battlefield. As we reach this two-year milestone, we’re excited to share that the Second Anniversary Update will arrive early October! 🎉 And that’s not all: Season Pass 3 will also be available on the same day, bringing even more content for you to discover following the same formula as for Year 2 and Year 1.We’re really excited about what’s coming, and we hope you’ll be just as excited to join us for another year of Space Marine 2! And as a little token of appreciation, we can confirm that yes, you’ll have your Greatsword in Year 3. 💥 COMMUNITY EVENTThe Community Event of the month is live since yesterday! You have until September 8 to complete 3 Chaos PvE missions (Vox Liberatis, Reliquary, Fall of Atreus, Obelisk, Vortex, Disruption or Purgation) to earn 100 accolades and 150 requisition points.Onward, Space Marines! GRATEFUL FOR THE MODDING COMMUNITYWe’re grateful to see how much excitement the launch of the Steam Workshop has brought to the modding community of Space Marine 2.Since the launch of the modding tool, we’ve seen an amazing amount of creativity from you, with new ideas and creations popping up… some of them have definitely made us smile! June Community Update

Hello Space Marines!Welcome to our June Community Update! As summer kicks off, it’s time to bring you the latest news on what's ahead for Space Marine 2. From teasers for Year 3 to the upcoming arrival of Patch 14, there’s plenty to cover, with a lot of spoilers ahead since there won’t be a Community Update in July. Let’s get started!More Teasing about Year 3!!Let’s reveal a bit more about the free content that will be added in Year 3: Two new weapons are on their way:The first one is the Absolvor Bolt Pistol, which will be the signature weapon of the upcoming new class. Sooo Chaplain, Apothecary or something else maybe? 🤫The second one is the One-Handed Thunder Hammer. While we mentioned a few months ago that the Greatsword was the priority for a new melee archetype, plans have changed (though perhaps it is still coming?).Two new Bosses will be added at the end of their respective Operation.Heretics among you should be pleased as there will be more ways to play your Chaos Space Marines! You'll be able to play with characters that were once limited to PvP only, in a new Chaos "spin-off" of Siege Mode. Now, regarding the cosmetic DLCs, Year 3 will also receive its “Season Pass 3”. New Champion and Cosmetic packs will be added, representing new and returning Chapters. Space Wolves, rejoice! The first Champion of the Year 3 will be a Wolf Guard Champion (with a classic Space Wolves round Stormshield), releasing in September. You asked for it for a looong time, a Deathwatch Champion will also be featured in Year 3. The Exorcists chapter will receive a bespoke Cosmetic Pack.As we revealed in last month's Community Update, one of the Champion DLCs will be for the new class, the same way it was for the Techamarine class. Alright, that’s enough spoilers for today! Hopefully, this little tease left you hungry for what’s to come! 😉Patch 14 is on its way! Now, let’s talk about something that’s already around the corner: Patch 14! This new patch has a smaller scale compared to the 2 previous ones (because we’re preparing for the much bigger Patch 15 😉), but this update will still bring 2 new PvP maps: Facility and Sanctum, respectively located on Demerium, and Avarax. A new enemy will also be added for the Thousand Sons: the Scarab Occult Terminator Sorcerer. This new Terminus enemy will be present in every Chaos Operation.More Heroic weapon variants will also be added in this patch. Among them, the Stalker Bolt Rifle, the Power Sword and the Power Fist will receive an heroic variant. There will be 3 other heroic weapons for a total of 6, we hope you’ll enjoy them! Finally, for the Season Pass content, this patch will bring: The Salamanders Champion Pack 2, which will be a Heavy Champion, with a Salamanders themed Multi-Melta skin. The Raptors Cosmetic Pack which will include a Helmet, Chestplate, Right and Left Pauldrons, a Cloak, plus an additional Cloak variant covering the top of the backpack.Last note on Patch 14, Steam players will have the opportunity to test it on the Public Test Server and provide feedback in early July. Space Marine 2 is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2!As revealed during the June Nintendo Direct, Space Marine 2 will be released on Switch 2 later this year! We’re currently targeting a release for the Holiday 2026 (which is roughly between Thanksgiving and Christmas).Community EventA Community Event to earn 100 accolades is still ongoing for a few days! You have until July 1st to complete a total of 30 waves in Siege Mode on any difficulty (across any number of sessions) to earn 100 Accolades. MOD SUPPORT ON CONSOLES 🛠️ 🎮We are pleased to announce that we are going to continue expanding our official mod support for the game and will bring mod support to consoles. This is a massive undertaking that is going to take a long time to implement and we’ve been working on it for a while, but now we are ready to announce it officially. The mod support will expand in multiple stages. The first stage would bring full Steam Workshop integration to the game and it should happen very soon.It has been very exciting (and sometimes very funny) to watch what our modding community can come up with. We are going to continue helping the community grow and improve the toolset. Dmitry Grigorenko, Game Director. That’s it for this month!Thank you so much for your continued support! Space Marine 2 and its DLCs are currently discounted on Steam, check it out if you don’t own them already! Please note that there exceptionally won’t be a community update in July, we’ll return at the end of August for more news about Space Marine 2! Don’t hesitate to follow us on our social media platforms to stay informed and get the latest news: Instagram, X, Facebook, Threads and Bluesky.See you on the battlefield, Space Marines. The Focus and Saber Teams. 🦾

Patch Notes 13.0

Patch Notes 13.0The Patch 13.0 - Purgation Update is now live! You can find the complete patch notes below, with comments from our Game Director, Dmitry Grigorenko.NEW FEATURESNew Operation: PurgationThe Combat Squad Veridian must reclaim a Mechanicus facility in the Kadaku swamps. Communication is lost, and Nozick's Research is still inside the laboratory.New Feature: Battle SimulatorA new customisable battle arena in which you can practice, fighting various enemies and their combinations, as well as trying different weapons, equipment and loadouts.New Feature: New Loadouts & Perk SwappingPlayers can now switch perk loadouts alongside weapons during a session. Perks loadouts are tied to your Weapon loadouts, so prepare accordingly.New Feature: Wargear 2.0Expanded customisation options allow each class to wear multiple wargear at once, such as capes, iron halos and sensor antennas. We are going to continue to expand the customization system. With the next update we are also going to add robes and tabards to the shared wargear pool. But as in this update, players will have to earn their wargear. Also, more unique wargear items are coming.Known issues that will be fixed in an upcoming hotfix:Iron Halos cannot be customised depending on the equipped Backpack for the Tactical & Bulwark.Storm Shields cannot be customised if the Bulwark has an Iron Halo equipped.Wargears are not available if the player selects an Armour Set Template.New Siege Content: Siege 2.0 UpdateA massive update for Siege Mode. New items to buy in the Siege shop, fresh bosses, additional objectives, and a brand-new Blessings and Atonements system. Learn more in the dedicated part below.New Feature: Trials of Resolve New challenging Ordeals with unique rewards.New Weapon: Bolt Carbine One-HandedNew secondary weapon for Assault and Bulwark.Something more interesting than another sidearm is actually on the horizon 😜New PvE Equipment: Pyreblaster CanisterA piece of equipment that functions like an incendiary grenade and requires to be shot to explode.New Heroic ItemsAdded 3 Heroic Weapons to unlock with Accolades:  Plasma Pistol - Relic Battle-Worn Plasma PistolChainsword - White Scars Chainsword (Block)Power Axe - Encarmine Axe (Block)New Season Pass ContentIron Hands Chapter Pack: Techmarine Champion + Signature Omnissian Axe SkinL&R Greaves; L&R Gauntlets; L&R Pauldrons & Decals; 4 Successor ChaptersGAMEPLAY & BALANCING TWEAKSFirearms in PvENon headshot damage increased by ~30% for bolter weapons. As we have discussed before, we want to close the gap between body and headshot damage for ranged weapons. The issue is that headshot damage calculation was very complex, because there were 2 sources of it: enemy damage zone sensitivity and weapon itself. Which results in weird multiplicative stacking that was very hard to manage and track. With this update we are doing massive rework and cleanup where we went through each enemy and adjusted its internal damage region sensitivity. In short, as a result: headshot TTK (Time To Kill) of all enemies should be the same, while non headshot TTK will be lower by 30%.The global headshot modifier has been removed from Majoris and Extremis enemies and adjusted on Terminus enemies. The headshot bonus now depends directly on the weapon’s stats, rather than on the target’s stats.Weapon headshot bonus was greatly increased for all bolter weapons to compensate for removal of headshot bonus from enemies.Known issue: as a result of the body shot damage rebalance, the gunstrike damage of secondary weapons shifted a lot. In some cases it increased and in some cases it decreased. This is not intentional and will be addressed in a hotfix.PS. We haven't forgotten about contested health rework. It is still coming. The change is very big, very complicated from the technical side as well and needs to be playtested a lot. Since the Patch 13 didn't have PTS we were not comfortable to release it in the wilds.Neo Volkite PistolHeat status effect accumulation is increased by ~16%Contested health recovery increased by 18%Plasma Pistol Common shot damage increased by ~30%The pistol's versions have been updated:The cooling speed version now also features increased max ammo.Default version is now a damage-focused version.Plasma Incinerator Common shot damage is increased by ~40%Charged shot damage is increased by 10%Burning Status EffectTerminus enemies take 20% less burning damage over time on all difficultiesMelee in PvEPower AxeFixed an issue with the “Power Wave” perk not working as intended. The maximum number of damaged targets for Power Backstep without perk was increased.Fixed the incorrect cooldown value in the description of the "Restoration" perk: changed from 20 to 15 seconds. The actual gameplay value was correct and has not changed.Power SwordAttack speed of all weapon versions has been slightly increased.Heroic WeaponsHeroic Combat Knife - Argent Edge: the description of the weapon perk has been clarified. PvE Perks With this patch we are not doing much with perk balance. Let me explain our current vision and our next steps:There aren't many perks left (~15 total across all classes) that have less than 20% relative pick rate in their column on hardest difficulty. Which sounds good in theory, but that doesn't mean that we are happy. We need to add more "toys" for our sandbox gameplay before we start replacing perks, just like burning status effect or shock effect. They can be used in multiple ways, weapons, perks etc.We are working on many more of these that can help with perk reworks. After that, we can start the rework process, because I feel like changing numbers or conditions on perks isn't going to be effective anymore. We need more interesting stuff, and afterwards we will start big overhauls. Our first priority is going to be Tactical class. While it's super strong in both ranged and melee combat, I think it lacks more defined "melee" build options.Second priority is going to be Vanguard class....

April Community Update

Hello Space Marines,This month has been quite busy for us, which means we’ve got a lot to share with you! In this Community Update we’ll get into more details with the Roadmap, Patch 13’s content, and the current Community Event.TWELVE MILLION PLAYERS 🫂First of all, we’re incredibly happy to announce that we’ve reached 12 MILLION players!!! 🍾 🎉A couple years ago, we had great hopes for this project. Today, it has surpassed even our wildest dreams. Thank you twelve million times over. 💙UPDATED YEAR 2 ROADMAP 🎯Here is the up-to-date Year 2 Roadmap you’ve been waiting for. Here are a few notable highlights from this new Roadmap: 👇The “REDACTED” DLC is going to be the Salamanders Champion Pack 2We are excited to announce Wargear rework that will allow players to use Class specific Wargear on other classes. I.e. capes and Iron Halos on Tactical. You will have to earn the right to do so in game. The update will be split into 2. In Patch 13, we will be adding Capes and Iron Halos, in Patch 14 we will be adding Tabards and Robes. With this you can strike out "something that we've said we are never going to do" from the list of things we've said about customization. 😉Siege mode will get a big overhaul and a ton of new features. Like gameplay modifiers that will allow specific build crafting. YOUR DUTY IS NOT YET DONE, BROTHER…Space Marine 2’s live support has officially been extended into a third year, bringing even more free updates and DLC content. 🎉 Lately, our updates have been very well received by the community, which really motivates us to keep up the momentum for the third year. 😁Everything that didn’t make it into the updated Year 2 roadmap will now roll over into Year 3, even though we’re not ready to share more details just yet. Don’t worry, all content that has been postponed will remain free, as it was planned for Year 2.We’re really excited about what’s coming, and we think you will be too!More info coming very soon 😉 Stay tuned.PATCH 13 🔜Let’s dive into the upcoming content together. Please note that this time, there will not be a Public Test Server.Iron Hands Chapter Pack (Season Pass 2)The Iron Hands Chapter pack will include a Techmarine Champion and a skin for its signature weapon, the Omnissian Axe.Additionally, Iron Hands-themed armour pieces will be added as part of the Chapter Customisation Pack: Left & Right Greaves, Left & Right Gauntlets, Left & Right Pauldrons & decals. Symbol customisation will be enabled with this pauldron! New PvE MapThe upcoming new Operation takes place on Kadaku. Your squad will have to investigate Chaos activity near a Cadian base and stop an unholy ritual. We can’t reveal much of it yet, but here’s a glimpse of how it’ll look:Ultragrind Ordeals and Wargear SharingNew Ordeals, the “Trials of Resolve” will be implemented. These Ordeals are particularly hard to achieve and are meant to test your skills on the long run. Each Ordeal will have up to 3 difficulty tiers. Some of them will require you to complete an Operation a hundred times, or slaying three Majoris or higher enemies with a single headshot on Absolute difficulty for instance. Good luck! 😉Starting with Patch 13, you will be able to equip Wargear that was previously only available to other Classes. There are new cloak and Iron Halo items that can be unlocked through these Ultragrind Ordeals. Note that you won’t have to grind for every single wargear, some will be shared right away. However, lore restrictions still apply, for instance: Snipers won’t be able to equip the Iron Halo. So, you will be able to equip additional cloaks and Iron Halos. And with Patch 14, we’ll also add sharing for tabards and robes (like the full Bulwark robe).Siege Mode UpdateSeveral new additions are coming, let’s take a closer look. New items will be added to the Siege shop, now you can earn Accolades for completing Siege mode. New items include a Commissar to boost Cadians, explosive mines, explosive barrels, turrets and a Techpriest to defend as he gets you currency boosts.New modifiers will be introduced including both Blessings and Atonements. It will be up to you to pick and choose them to customise your mission. Pick 1 Blessing amongst 3 every 5 waves. One Atonement is applied every 5 waves as well. You can reroll it against some Siege currency. The Hive Tyrant and the Vortex Beast can now be encountered as Bosses. The timer is getting a rework too. Now, when the timer’s over, you won’t get a Game Over – enemies become subsequently harder to beat. Battle Barge Practice ArenaThe Practice Arena is a new addition to the Battle Barge. Only available in solo, this new area allows you to test your weapons on the enemies of your choice, in the difficulty of your choice. You will have a display showing the total damage dealt and your damage per second. Ideal to try out new weapons, check the most efficient combos and so on. Check our 6min gameplay video for a first look at it.Or if you’re looking for a fun challenge, spawn as many enemies as possible and try to survive!3 Weapon Variants for Heroic DeedsThree new Heroic weapons will be added with this patch: Plasma Pistol (Charged shot damage is increased)Chainsword - Block type. This marks the return of the Artificer Block Chainsword that some of you were missing. (The number of blocking stacks is increased to 3 with a higher damage bonus for the third stack and slightly decreased bonus for the second)Power Axe - Block type (After a perfect block you can move out of the Power Stance and perform a Power Backstep with the next hold attack)New Weapon - Bolt Carbine SidearmA new secondary weapon will be added: the Secondary Carbine SMG, a close-range carbine with extremely rapid fire. Available for Bulwark and Assault. Perks LoadoutThis was one of the most requested QoL features: you will now have the possibility to have up to 3 perks loadouts (in a similar way to what already exists for the weapons), for easier selection and less menu navigation. Customise a lo...

March Community Update

Hello Space Marines!March has been a busy month for us, with hotfixes, working on patch 13 and more. Alongside these changes, we also want to address recent feedback and share important news about the Chapter Voice Pack. Let’s dive in!Hotfixes 12.1, 12.2 are live, 12.3 is on the way 🔧The hotfixes 12.1 and 12.2 were released earlier this month, bringing stability improvements, corrected issues with some of the Techmarine’s perks, and buffed the Sniper and Vanguard classes, among others. A 12.3 hotfix, which will bring further stability improvements, is also on its way. We’ll let you know as soon as it’s live.Regarding future updatesWe are currently working on Patch 13. The main focus of this patch will be on Siege mode. We are going to add more features to it:More purchasable items to allow new strategiesDifficulty curve will be reworked, sessions will be shorter and more intensePlaying Siege mode will also grant accoladesMore details will be revealed as we’ll be closer to the Patch 13 release. It will also bring a new PvE mission, more customisation options for the Techmarine, 3 new Heroic weapons variant, a new weapon and equipment, more customisation options items (and a new customisation feature 😉), and of course, the Iron Hands Chapter Pack. Also, we’re working on an update of the roadmap, as the current one is no longer faithful to reality. We’ll release it in April, so stay tuned!About the Chapter Voice Pack 🗨️Note from our Game Director:We heard your feedback regarding the Chapter Voice Pack DLC and wanted to address it. It's obvious this DLC has failed to meet your expectations and we are sorry about that. Delivering quality content - free or not - is a priority for us.Let me explain a little more about this DLC, and why we decided to make it free from now on:The voice pack was originally designed to include what we call “battle chatter”: lines that react to combat situations and are not tied to specific missions. Each character in the voice pack got 450+ lines per 7 languages. However, it does not cover the large amount of scripted, level-specific dialogue found in Operations, which represent roughly 1500 lines for each operation. We understand that many of you expected your chosen Chapter’s voice to be more complete. That’s on us, we didn’t set the right expectations, and the result feels incomplete. Many production constraints, such as localization, voice actors availability and necessity to keep updating voice packs when adding new Operations, forced us to make the voice pack as it stands currently, and the same constraints are not allowing us to "expand" the voice pack by adding the missing lines.Looking ahead, we’ll be making improvements to the current implementation. We are currently working on an option to disable replacement of missing level specific VOs by Ultramarine characters, and we'll also expand the voice pack to PvP.We still believe that expanding customization, whether it’s how your Space Marine looks or sounds, is important for the game's fantasy. This is why we've decided to offer a refund to all owners of the DLC, and to make it free from now on. We are currently setting up the refund with platform owners. Refunds will start from early April.Thank you for your feedback and for your continued support. Dmitriy Grigorenko, Game DirectorWhat’s going on next? Starting from early April, the DLC will be free on all platforms. Steam: You’ll get your refund on your Steam wallet. The DLC will directly be added to all game owners. When will I get the refund?Refunds will be processed automatically on all platforms, and you’ll receive an email notification once yours has been issued. The timing for the refund will vary depending on the platform, but all refunds should be completed by the end of April. If you haven’t received yours by then, please contact the platform’s support. Community Event 💥Get ready for this month’s Staying on Schedule event: Unlock the Mark XI Hell’s Teeth Chainsword by completing 5 Operations as Tactical, Assault, Vanguard or Bulwark before April 6th, 2026.That’s it for this month!Thank you for supporting us and helping us improve Space Marine 2.
