GTA 6 — Frequently Asked Questions
The questions people actually type, answered without inventing anything.
The short version: GTA 6 is scheduled for 19 November 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with no PC version announced. It stars two playable protagonists, Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval, and is set in Leonida — a fictional Florida centred on Vice City. Pre-orders are open at $79.99 (Standard) and $99.99 (Ultimate) in the US, pre-load starts on 12 November, and no cheat codes exist yet.
Every answer here is either sourced to Rockstar or explicitly marked as unknown. Where a question has no honest answer yet, we say so rather than guessing — which is why some answers below are shorter than you will find elsewhere.
Quick answers
Frequently asked questions
When is GTA 6 coming out?
Rockstar has it scheduled for 19 November 2026, which is 30 days away. The date has moved twice already — the full record is on our release date page.
What platforms is GTA 6 on?
PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, confirmed by Rockstar. No PC, Nintendo Switch or last-generation console version has been announced.
Is GTA 6 coming to PC?
No PC version has been announced. Every previous Grand Theft Auto came to PC later — GTA V arrived on PC 19 months after console — so a PC release is likely but is not confirmed and has no date.
Who are the protagonists in GTA 6?
Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval, both playable. Lucia is the first playable female protagonist in the mainline series. See our character profiles.
Where is GTA 6 set?
Leonida, a fictional US state modelled on Florida, centred on a returning Vice City — the first time the series has revisited it since 2002. Full breakdown on the map page.
How big is the GTA 6 map?
Rockstar has never published a size. The "twice the size of GTA V" figure everyone repeats comes from the 2022 leak and has never been confirmed.
Are there GTA 6 cheat codes?
Not yet — the game is not out, so no codes can exist. Every "GTA 6 cheats" list currently online is fabricated. We will publish tested codes within 24 hours of launch. See the cheats page.
How much does GTA 6 cost?
$79.99 for the Standard Edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition in the US, £69.99 and £89.99 in the UK. Other regions are on our price page.
Can I pre-order GTA 6?
Yes. Pre-orders opened at midnight local time on 25 June 2026 on the PlayStation Store, the Xbox Store and select retailers. Sites selling a PC version or early access are scams.
When can I pre-load GTA 6?
Pre-load begins at local midnight on 12 November 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, for digital pre-orders and for boxed codes redeemed before launch.
Does GTA 6 come on a disc?
The boxed version contains a download code, not a disc. It goes on sale from 12 November 2026 so it can pre-load too.
How many GB is GTA 6?
Rockstar has not published a download size, and the PlayStation and Xbox store listings show none. The figures going around (a 100-250 GB fan poll, an anonymous leaker's "200+ GB", an unsourced 676 GB forum post) are guesses. Sizes usually appear on the store listing around pre-load day.
What time does GTA 6 unlock?
Rockstar has not announced an unlock time. The PlayStation Store listings show midnight local time on 19 November (in the US that is midnight Eastern, 9pm Pacific on 18 November). Store listings can change.
What is GTA 6 rated?
ESRB M (Mature 17+), PEGI 18, USK 18. The ESRB lists blood and gore, intense violence, nudity, strong language, strong sexual content and drug and alcohol use.
Will there be a GTA 6 Online?
Rockstar describes GTA VI as "a single player experience". Nothing about an online mode for GTA VI has been announced. The free month of GTA+ that comes with digital pre-orders works with the current GTA Online.
How long will GTA 6 take to beat?
Unknown. For reference, GTA V's main story runs roughly 31 hours, and around 48 hours with side content.
Will GTA 6 be on Game Pass or PS Plus?
Extremely unlikely at launch. Rockstar has never put a mainline Grand Theft Auto into a subscription service on release day.
How many GTA 6 trailers are there?
Two numbered trailers (December 2023 and May 2025), plus An Extended Look (27 August 2026) and the Launch Trailer (15 October 2026), all from Rockstar. Anything else is fan-made, AI-generated, or footage from the 2022 leak. See our trailers page.
Why does this site label everything?
Because most GTA 6 pages present leaks in the same voice as Rockstar's own announcements, and readers cannot tell which is which. Every claim here is marked confirmed, reported or rumour. Read our editorial policy.
